I went to a Bigfoot Festival and didn’t see a single Bigfoot.
Metaline Falls is a small town, about 200 people, that I find the energy of the place interesting. It’s oddly quiet. Even during the festival with tons of people around and activities going on.
There’s a huge apartment building with interesting design features I love. I will photograph this building every time I go. I had planned on taking a pinhole photo, but there was too much traffic for the shot I wanted. I would’ve had to set my camera in an intersection. On a day when they aren’t having a festival or something it would probably be ok.
It was a beautifully sunny day and I quickly got too hot walking around and let town for other adventures.

Sweet Creek Rest Area was a surprising little stop. This waterfall is a short walk from the rest area parking lot. There are picnic tables all along the trail making for a nice place to eat your lunch.

Then I randomly decided to drive over the mountain to head back home. I’m so glad I did. It was a wonderful drive.
I’m not 100% happy with my photos. The sun was so blinding to my eyes, I was having a hard time seeing. I should’ve used the auto setting on my camera instead on relying on my own eyes. The images came out dark. Many of them are beyond saving with editing. At some point I turned off RAW files which wasn’t helpful.
I will take this drive again and do somethings a little differently. It was still a great day. I enjoyed getting out with my cameras.
I took my TLR, but didn’t take a single photo with it. I do think some of the buildings and things in Metaline Falls would look great in black and white.
